From craft to profession
Formal education, licensing and pharmacopoeias gradually separated professional pharmacy from general trade. In the twentieth century, industrial medicines and public health institutions transformed dispensing while compounding and direct counselling remained important.
Today the country has public regulation, a pharmaceutical chamber and a wide private pharmacy network. Electronic health services and modern medicine controls continue that transition towards standardised, traceable care.
