Bring the tessera sanitaria and the prescription number or reminder supplied by the doctor. Private white prescriptions, controlled medicines and exceptional cases can follow different rules.
If the system is unavailable, follow the pharmacist's and regional health service's instructions. Do not assume that a medicine box or old reminder can replace a valid current prescription.
