Bosnia and Herzegovina has no single nationwide electronic-prescription platform. Prescribing and reimbursement systems are organised by the entities, Brčko District and—in the Federation—cantonal health-insurance institutes. Digital services therefore differ by place and insurer.
What to bring
Follow the instructions from your doctor and insurance institute. Bring your health card, identification and any printed code or prescription document you were given. A pharmacy connected to one local system may not be able to retrieve a prescription issued under another arrangement.
If a system is unavailable or you are away from home, contact the prescriber or your insurer before relying on emergency supply. The pharmacist must follow the rules applicable where the medicine is dispensed.
